A Good Man is Hard to Find: Draft two â€Å"A Good Man Is Hard To Find† is a short story written by Flannary O’Connor talking about a family vacation that has gone wrong. Family is an interesting topic when reading this story. The children, John Wesley and June Star, are spoiled children who have no respect to anyone. The father has a temper. The grandmother is a very judgmental person. Each family member plays a role of the outcome of the family trip. The typical roles of children in stories about the â€Å"old days† are respective and considerate. The grandmother states after John insulted her native states that â€Å"In my time, children were more respectful of their native states and their parents and everything else†. When reading this story, the roles of the two children are the completely opposite of this. John Wesley is a rude, disrespectful child. He does not really think too much about anything. When asked what would happen if the Misfit caught him, he states â€Å"I’d smack his face† completely unaware of how dangerous he is and how that mentality could cost him his life. June Star has a sharp tongue and does not old back when speaking her mind. There are several incidents where she states what’s on her mind. When the family reached The Tower, a place to eat and dance, June dances to some music. The wife of the owner of the place states how cute she is and asks her to stay with her.
